Jar of Questions - Part 9

What was a favorite place to go with my family when I was young?
I can only remember going on a couple picnics out on the desert with my family and they were all out east of mesa. We had a 34 Ply 4 Door as a family car then. I did enjoy going out on the desert gathering wood to cook with and heat our home - as we only had wood burning stoves when I was young. Don + Lee and Heber and Papa was the one going on those outting. I think once or twice we rode up to Roosevelt Dam over the Apache Trail but I guess really the most fun place I went with my family when I was growing up was home. There's still no place like home.

After Joan + I was married I believe that our favorite spot to go was Kohl Spring camp grounds up on the Rim (along the old Rim Road). We started going there right after we was married. My dad (Papa) always seemed to be there ahead of us or with us and we still go there 40 some odd years later with our growing family. Fact is we're there today August 7th 1998 enjoying the campgrounds along with Joan. We came in Tuesday and Donna, Blake, Alicia + Carl came in yesterday. Then Jamey + Preston + Brandon they brought 2 extra babys they were taking care of. Then David and Pattie came in last night with there motor home with Aaron, Elizabeth, Dylan Dustin + Austin, and then Nathan came in with there suburban pulling a trailer with 2 A.T.C bike to ride. We really enjoy it here in the pines with a split rail fence around it. We've also enjoyed Christifer Creek down below the rim and used to camp there also with our beginning family + fishing in the creek, and we also enjoyed the White Mountain, North Fork of White River. The fishing + camping was good there. Emily used to like to clean all the fish that was caught, and she caught her share also. We've really enjoyed everywhere we ever went and enjoyed the togetherness we shared.
