Jar of Question - Part 12
January 2000
We lost a good friend today - a 4 legged animal we called Yeager. He died this evening and I took the tractor and dug a hole out in the back of the garage close to where we buried another friend we called Smokey. But Yeager was different. He came as a puppy and he belonged to Preston. They bonded very close right from the begining. The very best of friends. Yeager was almost human and it was fun to watch Preston + Yeager roll and tumble together in the grass, and chase sticks + balls together. Whether Preston was walking or riding his bicycle Yeager was always right there along side Preston. If Preston fell asleep on a blanket out on the yard Yeager would curl up next to him and fall asleep also and stay with him until Preston woke up. Yeager was a white dog and people knew who was going down the field or road together because they were always together. But Yeager did like to get in the office and under the desks when it got too hot or cold so he could enjoy the heater or the air cond. but when he heard Prestons voice call Yeager - he perked up his ears and he was gone like a light - off and running with his friend + master. They both truely loved each other. We appreciate and thank Yeager for all his help in raising Preston these past 3 or 4 years.
